The annual exam in December, the syllabus will end in three ways
This year the annual examination of primary and secondary level will be in the short syllabus. That is why experts are making three types of alternative plans. They think that even if the educational institution opens next September, it will be possible to teach in at least 70 working days. However, there is a risk of delay in opening the educational institution. That is why three types of short syllabi are being prepared for 50 and 30 working days.
It is learned that a workshop has started at NCTB on Wednesday (August 12) to finalize this ‘recovery plan’ of education. It was attended by secondary level teachers and experts. The workshop will end today, Thursday (August 13). It is known that if there is time for 70 days, 50 days or 30 days, there are three plans. Teachers and experts are making this proposal by analyzing the textbooks. When it is final, it will be sent to the Ministry of Education.
According to the workshop sources, if it is possible to open the school by November, the annual examination will be taken after reading the short syllabus. The rest will be left out leaving the important part of the current syllabus. And if it is not possible to open the educational institution by December, the secondary level students will be promoted to the next class through auto pass.
On the other hand, the National Academy of Primary Education (NAPE) has developed a primary recovery plan. And the recovery examination plan of the secondary is being prepared by Bangladesh Examination Development Unit (BEDU). This workshop has been organized in NCTB to finalize that plan.
In this regard, the Chairman of the National Curriculum and Textbook Board (NCTB) Professor Narayan Chandra Saha said, various curricula and syllabus are being summarized. The full year lesson plan is being redesigned. Plans are being drawn up depending on when it will be possible to open an educational institution.
He said the final decision would be taken by the education ministry. They will just sort out the plan. The plan is based on what will be taught after the school opens. They want to finish the school year by December.
Professor Ziaul Haque, chairman of the Dhaka Board of Education, said the important parts that would not be possible due to the short syllabus would be taught as essential lessons in the next class. There will be no shortage of skills of the students.
All educational institutions in the country have been closed since March 17. In this situation, Bangladesh Examination Development Unit has submitted a 39-page report to the Ministry of Education. It has been recommended not to take JSC-JDC examination there. However, the Ministry of Education has said that more than one option is being considered. So nothing is final yet.
The government will decide at the last minute after checking and sorting out the recommendations. Bedu thinks that if the school opens in September, it will be possible to take the 100 number test. And if it is opened in October or November, there may be a test of 50 numbers. If that is not possible, the students will be passed to the next class through auto pass.
